There's no single right answer - it depends on your garment, your budget, your order size, and how your logo is going to hold up over months (or years) of wear. How the Two Methods Actually Work

Embroidery stitches your logo directly into the fabric using coloured thread, building it up thread by thread until it's raised and textured. DTF printing presses the design onto the surface of the garment, all in one go

• Embroidery - durable, textured, premium feel. Best for chest logos, caps, and polos.
• DTF printing - flat, vibrant, ideal for vibrant and detailed designs and larger print areas like full-back prints.

Durability: Which One Lasts Longer?

If your team is washing their workwear weekly (or daily, for trades and hospitality), durability matters more than almost anything else.

• Embroidery - holds up to hundreds of wash cycles without fading, cracking, or peeling.
• DTF printing - typically shows wear after 40-50 washes, though quality glue and proper temperature for press, extend that significantly.

For workwear that's in constant rotation, embroidery is usually the safer long-term investment. For event tees or seasonal drops that only need to look great for a shorter period, DTF printing does the job beautifully.

Cost: Where Each Method Wins

• Small orders (under ~24 pieces) - embroidery and DTF are equally as cost-effective.
• Larger orders (24+ pieces, especially 50+) - DTF printing becomes cheaper per unit, since the setup cost is spread across more garments.
• Complex or multi-colour designs - ideal scenario for DTF Printing and therefore lesser in cost, while embroidery cost is driven more by stitch count and logo size.

Which Garments Suit Which Method

• Polos, caps, jackets, and corporate uniforms - embroidery gives a premium, professional finish that holds up under repeated washing.
• Hi-vis workwear - both methods work, but placement matters more than method - we'll always check your design doesn't interfere with compliance requirements.
• T-shirts, hoodies, and event apparel - DTF printing suits bold, colourful, large-format designs particularly well.
• Detailed or photographic logos - We recommend DTF (direct-to-film) print for brilliant detail and colour.
