From Idea to Artwork-Ready: What We Need From You to Print Your Logo Perfectly
Share
"I don't really have proper artwork, is that a problem?" It's one of the questions we get asked most, especially from first-time customers, small businesses, and anyone ordering custom tees for a birthday or hens party rather than a corporate uniform. The short answer: no, it's not a problem at all - here's what actually helps.
What "Print-Ready" Artwork Actually Means
Print-ready simply means we have a file that's clear enough, and in the right format, to reproduce accurately on fabric - whether that's through embroidery, screen printing, or DTF.
- Vector files (.ai, .eps, .svg, .pdf) - ideal, since they scale to any size without losing quality. Great for text-based logos and simple graphics.
- High-resolution raster files (.png, .jpg) - workable, provided they're large and clear enough - a photo of a logo taken on a phone usually isn't, but a high-res export from Canva or a designer often is.
- Business cards, old letterhead, or a rough sketch - a starting point, not a final file, but genuinely useful for us to recreate your logo properly.
What If You Don't Have Any of That?
Plenty of our customers come to us with an idea rather than a file - a business name, a colour scheme, a vague sense of "something like this but for our brand." That's completely fine.
- Tell us your idea in words - style, colours, and any reference images you like the look of are enough to get started.
- We'll help create or clean up your artwork - our design support can turn a rough concept, an old low-res logo, or a hand-drawn sketch into something properly print-ready.
- We'll always show you a proof first - nothing goes to print until you've seen and approved exactly how it will look.
A Few Things That Make the Process Faster
- Send your logo in colour and black-and-white - useful for garments where a single-colour version prints or embroiders better.
- Let us know if colours need to match exactly - especially for corporate branding, where a specific brand colour matters.
- Mention the garment and placement you're picturing - a chest logo and a full-back print are treated very differently at the artwork stage.
Have an Idea But No File? Send It Through Anyway
Whatever you've got - a logo, a sketch, or just a description of what you're picturing - send it our way and we'll tell you exactly what we can do with it.
